Assembling

Install SOFTBOARD in dry premises which are not prone to moisture. Before the assembling keep SOFTBOARD unpacked indoors for 24 hours to bring the boards' moisture in compliance with environment's one

Wooden massive base assembling

  • Install SOFTBOARD in one or several layers
Multi-layer stacking is recommended when you need better heat insulation. In this case the boards should be fixed with 30 mm displacement
  • Fasten the board with screws 25 mm or wide back staples of stainless steel 30 mm
  • Minimal length of fasteners should be equal to the board thickness plus fastening sinking

Mineral base assembling (brick, stone)

  • Install SOFTBOARD in one or several layers
Multi-layer stacking is recommended when you need better heat insulation. In this case the boards should be fixed with 30 mm displacement
  • Put a little glue or leveling plaster (4 kg/m2) on the surface before stacking the board
  • Fix the board with two fastening details
You may use liquid  nails or percussion dowels as fasteners (minimum length: the board thickness plus plaster plus reseve). Minimum length should be not less than 35 mm
  • Fasten liquid nails or percussion dowels on T-shaped joints and two extra fasteners in the centre of the board

Doubing (for better protection from moisture and other bad environmental influences)

  1 - SOFTBOARD
2 - Glue glazing plaster (base coat, liquid plaster)
  3 - Reinforcement
  4 - Insulating grounding
5 - Upper layer of plaster
  6 - Paint

Insulation underlay assembling (for parquet and panel floors)

  • SOFTBOARD 5.5 is used as thermal and soundproof insulating underlay for floors of the "floating" type levelling off considerable unevenness of the floor base
  • Before you start laying SOFTBOARD 5.5 make sure the floor base is clean and dry enough
  • Lay SOFTBOARD 5.5 on concrete or wooden base at 45o angle with respect to floor panels. You don't have to use any glue or nails while laying the boards
  • Permissible base imperfections may be up to 2 mm, permissible moisture level  – 3%
  • If there is a danger of constant moisture effect from the side of the base, put a damp proof course (0.2 mm film).
  • Leave 2 mm gaps between the boards using special extended wedges
  • Extended gaps at the walls and other stationary elements should be 10 mm
  • Cut SOFTBOARD with a knife if necessary

Interior furnishing of SOFTBOARD decor and acoustic panels

  • Install SOFTBOARD decor and acoustic panels directly on wooden or plaster blocks base by gluing or cramping
  • Apply glue stripes  at the range of 20 mm from the edge on the back surface of the panel
  • Point the glue at every 200 mm towards the centre of the panel
  • Press the panel to the base a little bit aside from the next panel and shift it to make the glue even
  • The panel will be attached to the wall without any extra fastening
  • SOFTBOARD decor and acoustic panels can be easily cut by a sharp knife for rug cutting. Alway cut along the covering material.
